Even in Hawaiʻi we have seasons. It’s been a particularly cold and wet winter for the Aloha State, with unusual amounts of rain and flooding state-wide. However, spring is here – the sun is shining and it’s time for the annual public safety network inspections for Maui County which consists of three islands; Maui, Lanai, and Molokai.
Our Maui County techs are currently in the process of inspecting seventeen repeater sites in person to ensure the integrity and optimization of microwave radio equipment which can include repeaters, rectifiers, inverters, batteries, and base radios for the Maui County public safety radio system. Some of these sites tie into the MPLS fiber backbone for failover and redundancy.
Meet David and Keone. They are our friendly Maui County field technicians who go the distance (covering three islands) to provide 24/7 managed services to ensure that public safety communications are supported and maintained at all hours of the day and night. The featured photos were taken at a communications site on the island of Lanai, just above Lanai City with breathtaking views of mauka and makai.
