When you first meet Brian P., you could make a few assumptions –
Like, “wow this guy seems really nice and down to earth – he seems perfectly normal and well adjusted.” That’s just it. He’s Banyan Network’s VP of Engineering who provides managed services support around the clock for several public safety communications networks in the State of Hawaiʻi. He designs network solutions and provides configurations for microwave radio and MPLS integrated IP backhaul for optimal high-availability and interoperability.
He is low-key, level-headed, and extremely logical and pragmatic. His passion is to empower you to take on as much or as little ownership over your network as you desire. He is an instructor and provides training to teams of field technicians, network analysts, and anyone who shares his enthusiasm for wired or wireless networking and multi-protocol label switching.
If you ever spend time with Brian – he might share the analogy of creating effective, accurate documentation for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich versus documentation for network configurations or some foundational networking concepts including “Please Do Not Throw Sausage Pizza Away”.
In the midst of extreme weather, and the slew of natural disasters that inevitably hit our isolated islands in the middle of the Pacific ocean, we need to design and build our public safety communications systems and the teams that support critical infrastructure with careful consideration and mitigating measures. Brian P. exemplifies the values of Banyan Networks. He is reliable, responsive, knowledgeable, effective, and an excellent communicator. He is a team player who will build you up, empower you, and create winning network solutions.
